	. Gymnogongrus griffithsiae (Turner) Martius (2cm) (=Fucus griffithsiae Turner, =Actinococcus aggregatus Schmitz) .
	Etymo: gr: naked sprout; dedicated to Mrs Griffiths, phycologist Etymo: gr: germoglio nudo; dedicato a Mrs Griffiths, botanica marina
	. Small thallus with thin (0.3mm), rigid, cylindrical axes, moderately branched, forked; branches of the same diameter, with protuberances containing tetraspores near the apex; 1 to 2cm. Brownish black. The thalli are gametophytes carrying parasite tetrasporophytes. Probably perennial species, found on stones in sheltered, shallow photophyle biotopes. Tallo piccolo, con assi sottili (0.3mm), rigidi, cilindrici, moderatamente ramificati; ramificazioni tutte dello stesso diametro, con le tetraspore contenute in protuberanze presso gli apici; altezza tra 1 e 2cm. Colore nero brunastro. I talli macroscopici sono gametofiti che portano tetraspore parassite. Specie probabilmente perennante, si trova sulle pietre in ambienti riparati, superficiali e bene illuminati. .
