	. Phyllophora crispa (Hudson) Dixon (11cm) (=Fucus crispus Hudson, =Fucus nervosus De Candolle, ?=Phyllophora nervosa (De Candolle) Greville ex Agardh, =Phyllophora rubens Greville, =Fucus epiphyllus Mueller, =Phyllophora epiphylla (Mueller) Batters, =Colacolepis incustans Schmitz, sessile cystocarps). .
	Etymo: gr: carrying leaves; lat: crisp Etymo: gr: che porta foglie; lat: increspata
	. Flattened, branched thallus, with central ribbing well evident near the base; undulated margins and rounded extremities; 10 to 20cm high, 1cm wide. Dark red. The gametophyte and the sporophyte are similar. Found year round, particularly abundant during autumn; near the surface in shaded biotopes, cracks and precipices, down to -30cm. Tallo appiattito, ramificato, con nervatura centrale bene evidente presso la base; margini ondulati ed estremità arrotondate, altezza da 10 a 20cm, larghezza 1cm. Colore rosso scuro. Il gametofito e lo sporofito sono simili. Si trova lungo tutto il corso dell'anno, ed è particolarmente abbondante durante l'autunno; colonizza ambienti superficiali in stazioni ombreggiate, e si trova fino a -30m su scogliere verticali e in fessure. .
	. Found in Mediterranean and Black Sea, and in North-Eastern Atlantic (from Iceland to Morocco). Presente in Mediterraneo e Mar Nero, ed in Atlantico Nord-Orientale (dall' Islanda al Marocco). .

Boudouresque suggests that Phyllophora nervosa could be vicariant of the North-Atlantic Phyllophora crispa in Mediterranean and Black Sea, but several authors don't make distinction between Mediterranean and Atlantic specimens. Boudouresque suggerisce che Phyllophora nervosa possa essere vicariante della Specie atlantica Phyllophora crispa in Mediterraneo e Mar Nero, ma molti Autori non fanno distinzione tra esemplari Atlantici e Mediterranei. .
