	Etymo: gr: carrying leaves; lat: horn-like Etymo: gr: che porta foglie; lat: simile a corna
	. Thallus with cylindrical stipe, often very long, carrying fan-like branches. The branching is irregularly dichotomic, and new blades can grow both at the top of the thallus or on the stipe, 10 to 20cm. Brownish red. The gametophyte and the sporophyte are similar. Perennial species, found in infralittoral, shaded, both sheltered and exposed biotopes. Il tallo ha uno stipo cilindrico, spesso assai lungo, che porta ramificazioni a ventaglio, irregolarmente dicotomiche. Nuove lame nascono sia all'estramità del tallo sia dallo stipo, altezza da 10 a 20cm. Colore rosso brunastro. Il gametofito e lo sporofito sono simili. Specie perennante, si trova in ambienti infralitorali, ombreggiati, sia riparati che esposti ai moti ondosi. .
