	Etymo: gr: red leaf; lat: wide opened Etymo: gr: foglia rossa; lat: divaricata
	. Flat, thin, fan-like thallus, with the general aspect of globose tufts, fixed to the substrate by a small disc, with or without stipe; the branches can be dichotomic or more frequently irregular, often adhering one to the other, or even to other algae; sometimes the thallus emits new rhizoides; 2 to 10cm. Ppink to red. The cystocarps are hemispheric and marginal. The gametophyte and the sporophyte are similar. Annual species, colonizing the infralittoral, sheltered environments, often epiphite on other algae. Tallo sottile, piatto, a ventaglio, con aspetto generale di ciuffi globosi, fissato al substrato da un piccolo disco, con o senza stipo; le armificazioni possono essere dicotomiche o più frequentemente irregolari, spesso adese l'una all'altra, o anche su altre alghe; talvolta il tallo emette nuovi rizoidi; altezza da 2 a 10cm. Colore da rosa a rosso. I cistocarpi sono emisferici e marginali. Il gametofito e lo sporofito sono simili. Specie annuale, che colonizza gli ambienti ombreggiati sommersi, e spesso è epifita su altre alghe. <
	. Present in Mediterranean, North-Eastern Atlantic (from Norway to Morocco). Presente in Mediterraneo e Atlantico Nord-orientale (dalla Norvegia al Marocco). .
